Join F45 Training on Memorial Day to participate in a MURPH Challenge with class times at 7 a.m., 7:30 a.m., and at 8 a.m. at 4920 W. Baseline Road, Laveen, AZ 85339.
The fitness challenge involves running for 1 mile, then 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 air squats, and finishes with another 1 mile run. F45 says they are honoring the fallen with grit, sweat, and community. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a Murph veteran, F45 invites you to come push your limits and pay tribute with them.
The exercise regimen is named in honor of Navy Lt. Michael P. Murphy, the first service member to receive the Medal of Honor for service in Afghanistan. He was awarded the medal in 2007.
Murphy was killed on June 28, 2005 when he put himself in range of enemy fire to get a clear signal to reach his headquarters. He gave them his unit’s location and requested immediate support. He returned to his position to continue fighting until he died from his wounds.
