Whether you’re starting a new health routine or just want to enjoy the great outdoors, there’s something for everyone right here at home.

Here are some great ways to get moving in and around Laveen.

Local gyms for every workout style

If you prefer a traditional gym setting, you’re in luck. Laveen is home to several fitness centers that cater to every fitness level and goal.

The Cesar Chavez Community Center offers a convenient and affordable neighborhood gym with cardio and strength equipment. It’s a great option for anyone looking for a friendly, low-pressure environment to get active. Memberships are just $20 per month for residents and $40 per month for nonresidents, with lower rates for youth – only $5 per year for residents under 17 and $10 per year for nonresidents. Day passes are also available at $2 for adults and $1 for kids, making it easy to drop in and work out on your own schedule.

At LA Fitness on 51st Avenue and Baseline, you’ll find a full suite of amenities including an indoor pool, basketball courts, and group fitness classes. There’s also another LA Fitness at 24th Street and Baseline for those who live closer to South Phoenix.

For those who like variety, EOS Fitness offers state-of-the-art facilities with locations close to home. The Laveen gym at 5910 W Baseline Rd, Laveen Village, AZ 85339 features a spacious layout, high-intensity training zones, cycling studios, and recovery areas. Just over the line in South Phoenix, you’ll find another EOS Fitness at 1812 W Baseline Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85041, offering the same great mix of classes, weights, and cardio equipment. Both spots are excellent choices for a well-rounded workout routine.

If you prefer to exercise outdoors, Harvest Park is a fantastic local spot to get moving. The park features a full series of workout machines that use your own body weight for resistance – perfect for building strength without the need for a traditional gym. It also includes basketball and pickleball courts, plus a walking and running track around the perimeter complete with mile markers to help you track your progress. And for families, there’s a playground and climbing area where younger children can play while you get your workout in. It’s a welcoming, community-focused space that makes staying active fun for everyone.
