To the mayor of lavern..I moved here in 2016.I watched the golf course going downhill after we moved here. I have also watched the town grow and prosper.what I and others in our community don’t see is a senior center or a community center.The closest ones to go to are in awahtukee. With the growth continuing in our city it would be a wonderful addition.Please consider it,and remember it will also keep our spending here instead of having to give to other cities.

In reply to Afrolatinagirl. I just purchased a home in the neighborhood. We need Costco, Trader Joe, Total Wine, Target, Salad & Go and nice bars and restaurants to go to. These things will determine how much I invest in my home or how long I stay.

In reply to Afrolatinagirl. I agree we don't need 7 KFCs and 3 other sub shops all near each other. We need more sit down options. A Winco would be perfect the distribution center is right on 51st 7 miles down the road. Frys and safeway are doing the bare minimum when it comes to selection since they have no competition. Hopefully they see that blackbear dinner was the most recent addition and that place is always busy showing we need more actual restaurants. Shopping and movie theater would be great also.

In reply to Susie. Well said! My family and I are so sick of fast food and cheap stores. We have to drive to do anything. Houses aren’t cheap in Laveen so why is the quality of restaurants.

I lived in Laveen and I am excited for the change to come. The only concern I have is that the restaurants that will be built are not for the community. I do not want to see another Goodwill, Dollar Tree, or cheap Mexican food. Get rid of all the fast food and put actual homely restaurants. For the community. Once we see stores that are healthy then there will be change. Throw away the mentality of low income neighborhoods because Laveen is growing into a bigger and better place to live. And it has to start with the people who want to invest in it. But no more fast food chain. No more goodwills. Put Dutch Bros, Village Inn or something different in or put something to give hope for the community.
